I've been on an early country (50's / 60's) kick for a while - The Louvin Brothers, The Wilburn Brothers, Faron Young, early Buck Owens, etc. I remember Dwight Yoakam's "Guitars, Cadillacs" being a breath of fresh air in the mid-eighties.

All country music sucks...

It has gotten worse since the 90's IMHO. For the most part what is referred to as country music nowadays is just pop music with a Southern twang.

That being said: George Strait, Garth Brooks, Brooks & Dunn, Hank Jr, Merle Haggard

I think it depends if you talk traditional country or new country. I like aspects of both. I like Morgan Wallen, Luke Bryant, Jason Alden and such. I grew up on 80’s country with good ole Wallen, Willie and others. I still love me some Reba! I have had a crush on her since I was a kid!!!
