Good Chrome Shop..?

Hello,

Can anyone recommend a good chrome shop in the southern California desert area? or maybe San Fernando valley area?
I have a friend trying to restore an old motorcycle and it has some specific bolts he wants chromed.

I read that like blueing a gun , the polishing / preparation is a very large part of getting a good chrome job ?

Good luck finding one. A couple of years ago I tried finding one to get a set of wheels chromed. I found very few, and of the ones I did find, they wanted more for the chrome work than the wheels were worth. Gov regulations have just about done away with chrome plating, much like it's almost wiped out the body shops (or least its made them ridiculously expensive)...

Not in California. The chemicles used have been banned or so heavily taxed that most chrome shops left the state. A few have tried another process but its not as good.

You need to send or take your stuff out of state.

Thanks! I passed on the information for the two shops to my friend. He is gonna call them and see what he can work out. They are both really close so he should be able to work something out, thanks again.

Not in Socal, but in Sacramento- SHERMS. The big hot rod builders and Ferrari restorers use them. Pick the level you want.
