Good Aftershaves/Shaving Stuff/Personal Fragrances - Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements.com

My mom got my some Brut soap on a rope when I was a kid in the 80s. Great stuff.

I actually appreciate some of the older aftershaves that have been around for decades.

Pinaud Clubman, Aqua Velva, Old Spice, Brut 33, etc.

You just have to go easy with them so as not to fumigate the room! 🤣
I think you can get the Pinaud Clubman pretty easily still.

I don't over do at all. I use a moderate amount of Brut on my chest just before putting my shirt on. That way its behind the fabric, and takes a while to make itself present. Lasts a bit longer, too since it does not evaporate so quickly.

I tried it and their shave foam. The aftershave is appealing. The shave foam is no better than Barbasol or Foamy.
I used to use the foamy shaving creams, but now I prefer the less voluminous Cremo-style cream that comes in a tube. I find that the thinner, slicker composition allows for more precision.

Yeah, those old classics are still available at drugstores.

Last time I got on an aftershave kick a few years ago, I had read about the Pinaud Clubman and how polarizing a scent it is, and decided to give it a shot.

It’s definitely strong, and definitely has that antiseptic, barbershop smell.

You definitely need to go easy with it.

The wife said she liked it.

I can't recall how I got turned on to Cremo, but it is tops.
I gave a tube to my brother YEARS AGO and he's still thanking me.

I still use a foam shave cream once in a while to "break it up".
The razor indeed cuts differently and my underwhelming bearding sprouts a tad differently.
Why I do this...and why I think it's good to do...is something I do not know.

The foamy stuff in the can is too thick. It prevents my Mach 3 from “biting”.

Now, if one were using a straight razor, it would probably work well.

Me? I haven’t had the balls to try a straight razor yet!

One thing I’ve wondered about barbers who do straight razor shaves, is how they know where each little mole and imperfection is, in the customer’s face. Seems it would be all too easy to deal someone a nasty cut.

I don’t even use one, and I know where my moles and bumps are!

Pinaud Clubman is the wife's favorite.
