CORRECTION!!!.... 100mb at 4g!!!!! I'm looking at my contract right now.This is a Walmart prepay service.After 100mb,it drops to 2g service for the rest of the billing cycle!!!

Well, it would appear that the adage that "you get what you pay for" applies here.

In our area a TRULY UNLIMITED data plan is available from TMobile at very reasonable rates.

We run a lot of phones with them but I believe it is available to anyone.

Is your Verizon Droid unlocked? If not it won't work on T-mobile without an unlock code. Also, I'd double check if that phone works with T-mobile's frequency. It's a strange one, but being a global device you should be ok.

I have seen my phone show 3g and maybe 2g on the display before.After i go past the 4g 100mb,it'll still show 4g on my display.So i wonder if i'm still getting 4g or 2g under the 4g display.

I wonder if it's worth going to metropcs for one of their unlimited plans,since Tmobile is buying,or is in the process of buying them out.They should have a lot better coverage,i hope.

I got my Droid 2 Global running on T-Mobile (and Verizon by settings).

There are many sets of instructions on various forums. One had a download for a bootable Linux CD that did most of the work. I used that.

My T-Mobil bill should be $30 plus tax. While T-Mobil does not work at my house, neither did Verszon.

Some of T-Mobile's Android phones offer WiFi calling for areas in which there is no T-Mobile service. It's a nice feature if you don't have signal at your house.

You could download the speedtest.net app on your phone if possible, or just go to speedtest.net in the browser to check your speeds.

2g appears to be capable of speeds up to 237kbps, or .237 Mb/s.
Assuming that your plan will only do 2g and 4g, it's safe to assume that anything over the numbers above means you're on t-mobile's 4g network. Odd and obnoxious that they kick you straight down to 2g from 4g, and don't throttle you down to 3g instead, or cap your 3g speeds at say 700kbps or so. I guess that's just what they do though.

Even my older Droid does this on my Tmobile account. It uses the battery up a bit faster but gives EXCELLENT performance on the home network.
