Going bottom dollar at WalMart tire center tomorrow

DT will price match Walmart - no reason to buy a name brand tire from Walmart because DT most likely also carries it.

I will get the low Walmart price - but the DT will install them for $5-$15 less than WM.
Not to mention the other perks like rotations and balancing for the life of the tires. The DT in my town has treated me so well that after I factor in the military discount, I don’t even bother haggling them on tires.

They honor their “certificates” with literally no questions asked. My wife bent an axle on our camper and bent a WHEEL like a Pringles potato chip. Needless to say, the tire was destroyed. Brought the torn up rim/tire combo in along with a new rim I bought elsewhere, told them “my wife did this” as I held up the tire, we laughed and in 20 minutes I was walking out with a new assembly. You do have to purchase a new certificate on the replacement tire if you want to keep that coverage. It makes sense for trailer tires (or other tires that get abused), but for regular commuter tires, most likely not.

Seriously, I AM IMPRESSED with Discount Tire and it takes a LOT to impress me with any kind of car service as lets just say I could write a book, a very bad, thick book based on my history with bad car service! As I recall it all started about the time as a young man working at Sears, I remember a manager running through the Hardware department heading to Automotive screaming "A car just fell off the lift, a car just fell OFF the lift"

Not sure about all DT but at all the multi locations I have purchased tires from it was shocking how different and BETTER , PRO the entire tire buying then install experience was over the last 40+ years of me buying many, sets of tires with each new bad experience giving me more and more material for a new chapter in my " BAD SERVICE" book I need to write one day!

That manager at Sears scene sounds like something out of a Will Ferrell movie 😂

Agreed wholeheartedly on the level of professionalism and courtesy I receive at DT. It’s a completely different experience than I’m used to along with very competitive pricing. The typically young tire techs don’t try to find a “natural balance” between the rim/tire combo. They usually just roll the tire on without paying attention to the weight dot and its placement in relation to the valve stem. This leads to a sometimes large agglomeration of weights in one spot, but the tire balances out well. I wish they offered road force balancing at my DT. I’d pay the premium for that option every single time.

Not so, I took my price for P7C2's to discount tire and they said the price was just above their cost and couldn't come close to matching, like over $200 more for a set of four. They'll match advertised prices, not specials

Use their online "found it lower" button. I just grab the price off Sam's or Walmart's web site.

Going into the store is not required. I have never had the online system not give me a better deal.

Added bonus - if DT has a mail in rebate they still beat the price and then you send in the rebate.

When Sam's has a special free installation - they match that.

Excellent, thank you! I'm in the West so it redirects to America's Tire which also has the "found it lower" button. It's also the nearest store with Road Force balancing, which is coincidentally where I had my last set mounted. Great help to those with a tire addiction 8 ) thanks again @z71bill !

I needed a spare because mine was almost 19 years old.

I found a brand on Walmart that DT also carried or so their web site said.

GT Radial Adventuro HT - it was super cheap and install is only $13, total was $99.

I did the DT price match through found it lower. They beat it down to $95.

I then got a call from the actual store - DT no longer carried this tire - so they gave me a Mohave tire that would have cost $155 for the same $95.

The best thing about found it lower - even people that don't like to haggle for a lower price can use it - just be detailed with the pricing information you send in.
