GMB Hub Assemblies Any Good?

I realize this is an old forum but I want to make some notes----Raybestos professional and Delco professional are the same---top of the line, OEM quality. MOOG, top of the line, OEM quality. Timkin, SKF same.

The others fall down in the list. But to see some say GMB and some of these others rank higher than moog or raybestos prove to me you are guessing and have no clue. Ask any front end shop--(A real one not a shop that does alignments)--they will tell you.

It looks like you note taking skills need a little work.
Delco pro is one step up from white box which they also sell under the Delco Advantage name, if you want top shelf Delco you have to go with their OE line not the pro.
Moog is somewhat low rent, they bought National bearing, sold off their NOS and now rebox Chinese and other lower quality parts similar to Delco pro and Raybestos.

Timken may or may not have plants in China, many of their bearings and hubs are of Chinese origin and reboxed, whats worse is they box many of them with no COO on the box or the bearing (its in the hub id markings down so it cant be seen), today they are for the most part (not all) mid tier as far as hubs go.
SKF, F.A.G, and a few other do have their own plants in China to supply the OE manufacturers, the quality seems identical to what is made in Germany, Sweden, France, etc.
GMB is from what I have seen since this thread started are not very good.

In my experience, SKF, Timken, FAG, National, are all top tier. As good or better than OEM. I've even bought some National bearings that had Timken's inside. Raybestos is low end, equivalent to budget house brand parts. I'll use their pads & rotors once in a while but that's about it. Delco Advantage is likely in the same boat, just rebranding the lowest bid supplier. Haven't used their Pro since at that point might as well pay for one of the top tier. I've installed on dozens of GMB bearings over the years and never had a comeback. Typically made in China but on the higher end so I'd feel confident installing on my car and have done so. Only once did I get one of their water pumps which ended up having a defective seal.

If you plan to put another 100k+ on the car, go premium. For ~50k parts GMB is a good economical solution.

I have SKF Wheel Bearings in the Jeep they use a FAG Housing and SKF Bearings. The one bearing I can see the race of says SKF Korea.

Ive noticed that Cheaper wheel bearings are also using smaller ID bearings which reduce the load capability of said bearing assembly.

the GMB u-joints i’ve had are made in japan and usually top notch. they are a big supplier over there so that’s to be expected

hubs? no idea

SKF is now the best, in my opinion.

I've had Timken fail in less than a year... their quality has dropped.

The SKF hub bearing assemblies have lasted longer.

MOOG bearings are Made in China crap, and overpriced. GMB makes quality stuff, the last Aisin timing belt kit I got for a J35 Honda came with GMB bearings in the idler pulleys and it's the only kit I'll use at work. My boss loves to sell the Conti kits, and I don't trust them. I like installing a genuine Aisin WP, quality idlers, and above all a quality belt. That, combined with the fact that the Conti kits come with a PRC-made hydraulic tensioner makes it a no brainer for me.

You'll be fine with the GMB.
