GM isn't so bad!

It's cool - I get your meaning...I didn't think you were trying to do that intentionally, but as you can see, it's fairly one-sided.

All good. Glad to see a Caddy doing well - I like the looks of those.

Scott,

I obviously agree in regards to that they are doing good. I think the big "WOW" will come when the 2008 CTS debuts. Did you happen to see the sneak-peak of it on 60 Minutes a while back. Personally, I think it looks AMAZING!

Anyway,

Another advantage to GM's dealer network is that warranty work can be performed by any GM dealer on any GM car, with some exceptions. A Pontiac dealer can perform warranty work on, and supply parts for, a Chevy vehicle.

Likewise for Ford and Mercury. I order parts for my Ford Mustang from a Mercury dealership.

For Ford, and I believe for GM too, if the part is the same then it will carry the same part number no matter what brand vehicle you are ordering it for.

Ed, you have agood point on small town dealerships. Not to put words in Vads mouth, but what I believe he was talking about was multiple GM dealerships in close proximity to each other in larger towns. Multiple Chevy dealerships and others for various vesions of the badge engineered cars.

A town of 80,000 might have 4 GM dealerships and one Honda dealer while the Honda dealer is selling as many cars as all the GM dealerships combined and providing better service.

Yeah, heaven help us if we do not believe/are not compelled to buy that TOYus is the supreme, ultimate epitome of automotive perfection!
