GM installing chargers for all EVs at dealers

So let me get this straight...these are level 2 chargers, so it'll take like 5-8 hours to get a full charge at one of these. Why on earth would someone sit around a dealer for that long to charge? It's like going back to the horse and buggy days where it takes 3 days to go 1000 miles. Don't see how EVs will work for people that like road trips. I've driven to/from CO straight through from WI, as well as FL to WI and back straight through. Takes about 5 minutes to get gas and get back on the road. I don't see any EV that can accomplish that.
I don't think GMs objective is to be helpful to EV drivers.
More likely they're going to make a profit.
Pay .25/kwh ; charge .40/kwh.

Very few travelers will ever see an open charger at a dealership, have any desire to travel to a dealership to charge, or bother to go to these unless it's a last resort. These chargers will be nearly if 100% consumed by the dealers own use.

Looks pretty good.

EV makers publish their vehicle's ranges.
If they obscure the ease of recharging, that's on them.....but don't act like that EV's inability to go from NY to LA is something they've been hiding.
I don’t really disagree with most of your post. To me an EV is just another type of car, no different than a 2 door coupe is to a 4 door sedan is to a SUV.
Buy what works for you all good but then we get to this one sticky point and this exact same point was made also by an American couple driving from Florida to Kansas during that cold weather, they ran into a problem of having to stop every 1.5 hours because the Tesla battery kept running down, they even called Hertz about it and guy told him he has been getting calls like this.

Anyway it just backs up what South Korea fined Tesla for.

I think this article (below) is more up-to-date and accurate.
The GM chargers will not necessarily be at a car dealer they will be locations identified by the dealers that will be good places to have them.
GM will work with the dealers in getting them installed. They will be at locations everywhere. Not just the car dealers themselves.
