No one company will dominate, we are only at the start of this. Competition is good in the coming decade the field will be wide open.
Whether GM can execute is always questionable but sometimes huge corporations do. I wasn't aware they already had a commercial operation running.
Notice the words, however obscure, appear in many articles in regard to the large companies. "hydrogen fuel cells"
I dont think at this stage any EV technology can be written off as "never"

GM can't compete in the car business so what makes them think they can compete in any other business? They couldn't make a profit with Opel for decades and sold it to PSA who quickly started making a profit with it.

You mean the second largest car company in the United States cannot compete?
And at times it’s number one.
If that’s not competing I don’t know what is

GM has become basically a truck company....Ford too....that's not "competing in the car business" IMO.

Well we’re certainly entitled to our opinions.
Bottom line is sales figures are sales figures GM sells more vehicles in the United States than any other company except at times Toyota.
One could construe that GM sells vehicles Americans want. I’m quite sure if you ask any of the other car companies would they like to sell as many vehicles as General Motors the answer would be yes and it wouldn’t matter if it was a four-door sedan or a pick up truck or an SUV.

Being in first or second place is something all companies strive for.
Not that it matters but for the life of me I could swear SUVs are much more in favor than four-door sedans.
All good, just discussing, nothing more.

Gm being Gm i expect it to be an energy releasing business instead.
GM had its fingers in the California Salton sea geothermal test station

Conviently the source of the geothermal energy is saturated with lithium and it is believed they could have what is in effect a naturally occurring a self powered salt dome mine, they just extract the lithium from the brine at the reactor site before dumping the freshly cooled liquid back into the ground
