My daughter recently bought an 04 Envoy and we are preparing to do the first oil change. The required specification is GM 6094M. Amsoil lists it on their web site, but doesn't specifically state they test for this or meet it. On the Mobil-1 web site, it is not listed nor does it appear on their bottles, yet when you request an oil recommendation they list their Mobil-1 5W-30. Several dino oils do list it. What gives? I would think that since this is a low temperature flow test that the synthetics would be all over this requirement.

Any GF-3 oil will meet this spec, since 6094M served as the basis for the revised cold temp specs for GF-3 over GF-2. GM decided to start requring oils that specifically meet 6094M for 2004 model year vehicles when it looked like ILSAC was going to relax the cold temp specs for GF-4.
