I agree. I have a friend in a very interesting situation concerning child support. He is Court ordered too pay, and is garnished for 80% of his income for one child. He(the father) is college educated, has a decent job(Makes @ $65xxx a year before taxes) and can barely pay his rent. He is not behind on support, according too the judge he can afford too "live" on 20% of his income. Thats well below the poverty level in the US, but somehow, hes is supposed too survive on $13k before taxes a year. The mother, gets the bulk of his income, as well as full state welfare benefits while only working a part time job. How this is "fair" amazes me really, being as Friday evening too Sunday evening he has the kid whilst she pays him nothing during those three days, he pays everything for her having the child for four days a week. The system is SEVERELY flawed IMO. I think both parties should be responsible for 50% of all childcare expenses with proof rather than forcing someone into poverty. Just my 2 cents.

Sounds easy, but each year the Vet(s) want complete evaluations just to tell me whats wrong. $250. Laid off last month, I have to decide on the dogs medication, child support/jail, and the roof over my head. I want to pick my dog, but I'm no good to him or the kids in jail. He's going down hill again, all I need is the Doxycycline.

1) Flea medicine is not prescription only (at least not in NY State). It is available at the Vet, online, Walmart.
2)Heartgard- The way I understand it, if a pet HAS heartworm already, the medication will kill the animal. That is why they require a test before prescribing it. At least that is what I have been told from a reliable source.
It is just like any profession-the vetrinarian I use is top-notch, great service and reasonable prices. I am sure there are plenty of "scumbags" also. Just like doctors, lawyers, cops,teachers, dentists.......

When my Lab decided to move in with me I took him in for a physical and found out he had heart worms. He spent a week in the hospital and then he had to wait for 2 or 3 months and have his blood tested once a month and when it came back clear of worms he was put on heart worm pills. The vet said if he was given the pills prior to getting rid of the worms he would die. There are still some caring vets.
I have not heard from LS. I hope every thing is alright.

Virginia is actually reasonable and formulaic...
but some states are wacky...and seek to punish rather than provide...

If our parent was a surgeon, and making say, $400K, then child support is predicated on that expectation of income...if our parent decides to follow his dream and go to culinary school and make $20K, then he would still be paying child support on what his income was expected to be, not on what it now is...
