And you would lose that money. Driving too slow is an offense in most places. They may not have to drive 40, but it's dangerous for a driver to do 25 in a 40 or 40 in a 65. The law recognizes this as a hazard. You can be fined for it. Usually the law is worded as to make it an offense to drive "at such a slow speed as to block the normal and reasonable flow of traffic on any street."

I think many of you need to brush up on your knowledge of road laws. I've been driving more years than many of you have ever even been alive!

In a 65 zone, the minimum was 40 MPH when I lived in NH, and I'd bet it still is about that here in TN. Many drivers seem to be unaware of this and maybe that's why they tend to go ballistic when they see a driver doing 40 on a highway while they're breaking the law by driving 70-80 in a 65 zone. They could very well be ticketed for it depending on how lenient the traffic officer may be at that time and place.

Keep your shirt on and check your laws before drawing conclusions.

I'd bet money I could go out right now and drive 25 in a 40 zone if I felt like it, and not be ticketed. I'd be very surprised if I was ticketed for it, and NOT be very surprised if a few younger, impatient, law uneducated drivers blew their horns at me, flipped me off, and/or tailgated me.

There are limits for how slow you can drive but AFAIK, 25 in a 40 is A-OK as well as 40 in a 65.
