So I feel kind of dumb asking this but I tried getting a sample from the dip stick tube but for the life of me I cannot get the tube down to the oil pan. So as a last ditch effort I sucked the oil out of the oil filter, do you think I could get bougas readings in doing so? I was carful not to tip the filter or get anything in it however it still concerns me. Also how much of the container do I need to fill for blackstone? I figured fill it up but just would like to know for next time or me next attempt to draw from the pan.

Thanks

From what I understand, mention that the sample came from the filter. That way they can rule out sediment and other things.

Were you changing the oil? Or a mid OCI sample?

So you have a sample pump and could not get the tube all the way down? I cannot get it all the way down on my Cummins diesel. Something is blocking it.

I just cleaned the drain plug area well, opened the drain plug some and drained about 1/2 cup into a clean container then inserted the sample bottle in the stream and filled it. Tightened the drain plug and poured the 1/2 cup back into the engine.
