Getting ready to bleed brakes. Do you shake the bottle of brake fluid?

It’s a new bottle of Lucas DOT3, never opened and still sealed. Are there any pros and cons to shaking the bottle before pouring? Thanks.
No, shaking will just introduce air bubbles. More air that will need to be bled out. Probably minimal but still.

No shaking. Always start with the furthest brake line from the master cylinder ie right or left rear depending on which side the master cylinder reservoir is on.
Not in a Subaru Crosstrek.

They don't have any additives which could fall out of suspension and putting air in the system by putting air bubbles in the fluid is the worst idea I can think of.

@TCL, how would you suggest he get experience, if he has someone "with experience" do the job for him? Brake fluid drain and fill is an easy task. A good project to learn on. And hey, that is what BITOG is here for, to give advice to one another, so we can become more experienced.

You aren't putting bubbles in the fluid here if you shake the bottle then pour in the reservoir or pressure blender vessle. Good lord. So driving around it gets shaken in the reservoir and this doesn't seem to cause any vessel. BITOG paranoia level 11 unlocked.

I get the question, for some reason I shake everything before using. I think because a mechanic told me once to shake the new oil to mix the additives that settle in the bottom. It was probably true in the past, probably not so much anymore. No clue, but I still do it, but I'm sure it hurts nothing either way.

Maybe ask you primary care doctor. There are probably drugs that can help with your need to shake everything.

Please don't shake babies.

Yeah baby! Woohoo…

Question: this is the third time I bleed the breaks on this car. The previous two times I remember having to pump the brakes a few times once the job was completed before the pedal stiffened up, but not this time. Why?
