It’s a new bottle of Lucas DOT3, never opened and still sealed. Are there any pros and cons to shaking the bottle before pouring? Thanks.

No shaking. Always start with the furthest brake line from the master cylinder ie right or left rear depending on which side the master cylinder reservoir is on.

I’m sure it got shaken plenty on its journey from where it’s made to your driveway or garage.

Besides, like the other poster said, do you shake your car every morning to get the brakes ready? No, you don’t.

Shaking creates bubbles. Why would you possibly want to introduce that into the brake system? If you want to shake it , do it in advance before you takle the job.

Not all modern cars are bled that way. VW for example...factory manual bleed order is LF/RF/LR/RR.

The only thing I can think of is drawing an analogy to bottled or mixed drinks, a person wants to mix up what may have settled on the bottom. Other than that I can't even imagine where the thought came from. Only the OP can explain. If the OP said they're a bartender, I think that would explain

So what method will you use? Buddy system or Speed Bleeders or pressure (Motive) or vacuum?

Spray each bleeder the night before with PB Blaster. And use a 6 pt wrench.

I installed Speed Bleeders to get SS bleeders. And then tried them and so easy I never used the Motive I bought.
