Genesis GV70 burning oil

I was riding home from work and was behind a late model Genesis GV70. When you ride a motorcycle, you smell everything. So the GV70 speeds up and a puff of white smoke comes out of the exhaust. I change lanes and while passing it the smell of burning oil is very strong. I would assume it had the 2.5T, and is burning oil, seeing this is one of the problems with that engine. It’s sad that a $55K+ late model car has a problem like this.

One hundred percent true.

A few years ago I purchased a used motorcycle near Charlotte. On the trip home I passed by several giant NC hog farms. The unexpected smell of the pig waste effluent lagoons was memorable.

On some cars if you step on the gas aggressively it will stink.

If you ever follow someone flogging a pentastar you will smell it.

Yeah a lot of cars richen the mixture at WOT. I was driving a rental Sequoia a few years back that had a roll down rear window, I got on it merging on the highway and man it stuck.

Never once smelled a Pentastar but been behind many a Toyota that was hard accelerating and the rotton egg smell was intense!

I'm not sure its all pentastars but
3.2 in cherokees, and 3.6's in grand cherokees.. can stink you out from some guy trying to speed up and cut in a half mile away.
Mine would just about stink you out of the car if you floored it on a certain long uphill on-ramp.

I'll have to pay attention next time lol I know my 3 pentastars don't

It’s still a Kia. No matter what they call it. I do think genesis has some of the best paint and body panel alignment I’ve ever seen. But it’s still a Hyundai

I know I’m behind a chicken hauler miles before I see it. It almost makes me puke in my helmet.

Well not long ago was behind a big taco food truck going up hill about 15 MPH. All I could smell was brakes overheating (cooking). 🔥

I live and sometimes travel a road that is a route for trucks hauling chicken remnants generated by a processing plant. In July you can smell them a mile away. They have had several wrecks which dumped the contents on the roadway. Slick as a glass and huge aroma. Call out the fire trucks and wash the road down. I can't imagine riding an open vehicle like a motorcycle following one of them.
