Generator oil change

I use Schaeffer's 711 10w30 HDEO syn blend (Grp II+ and Grp IV) in my semi truck, my compact tractor, my JD zero turn mower, and my Yamaha EF2000is generator. Great all around oil. Delivered free to the house for less than $20 a gallon, which includes tax. I have grown partial to the syn blends the last few years.

Summer grade you say? Look no further than heavy duty diesel oil in 15W40 for conventional, or 5W40 if wanting synthetic. Generators can run pretty hard in the summer and I prefer them to have 40 weight oil in them.

If you need something that will work in winter and summer, and 10W30 will work in your winter climate, than heavy duty diesel oil 10W30 such as Shell Rotella or Delo is perfect.

Another vote for RT5. I use it in 2 Subaru-Robin 4300W inverter generators.

I recently switched to M1 0W40 after 12 years of 10W30 in my HF Chonda 11HP generator. The generator starts easier with the M1 when it gets cold. The cord pulled easy at 0°F on a test run. With the 10W30, it was noticeably harder to pull. Above 20°F, it feels the same.
