I have a sample I took at my last oil change sitting in my garage for about two weeks now and was wondering if it was too late to send the sample in for analysis?

Is there any kind of time duration that the used oil needs to be analyzed in or can it sit for awhile? What factors aside from light and air would pose a contamination problem?

Does anyone have suggestions for a reputable place to send the sample to?

This may get moved to Automotive General and Off Topic ..but ..

The current school of thought, by one of the resident gurus (Terry of Dyson Analysis), is that as long as it was in a sealed container and not exposed to light it would be okay. That is, IIRC what he said when asked this.
