GENERAL ALTIMAX RT45 vs SINCERA SN250 A/S

We are pretty happy with out 365AWs, we had RT43s before that. They are very similar tires overall. If you can afford it I'd spring for the CC2 which last a lot longer, and cost the same or less on a per-mile basis. The CC2's handle better in wet conditions and brake better than the 365AWs.

I ended up going with RT45 as the Sinceras were out of stock everywhere. so far they seem ok, they aren't overly loud and seem to have an ok ride.

I think you will be happy with them
I hope so, I am kind of glad I went with them in a way because we do get a lot of snow here so their snow performance will be a nice bonus. I was going to buy a dedicated set of snows with the sincera's.

I'm now in a similar situation: RT45 vs 365AW for a 2010 Honda CR-V in Southeast Michigan...tough choice.
There are some reviews and comments on both tires, but it is hard to get a sense of how they will perform in my situation (and some wildly disparate opinions, particularly for noise and mileage).

They both look like fine tires, and very close in price. I'm leaning toward the 365AW, though the alleged mediocre wet traction gives me pause.

My mpg took a slight hit with the new new generals, around 1-4 mpg but I am also doing a lot of city driving now and before i was driving only highway to work.

I am not sure about ride quality the suspension in my car is harsh and they are similar to my previous General tires that were a cheap versions for a local parts chain store in canada.

I did really want to try out the Sinceras as I dislike road noise, these current altimax are a lot quieter than my last tires but they had cuping from bad struts so they were really noisy, its part of the reason i got rid of them.

I'm surprised you didn't go with all-weather tires

I live in an area that routinely gets a lot of snow and I've only ever had dedicated snow tires on a rear wheel drive vehicle. the only time time all seasons get bad is near there end of life and you can drive conditions as well. I've never been stuck in this kia rio and its always had all seasons, I also don't dive down unplowed cottage roads or anything looking to get stuck tho.

Yeah, we get some snow, but only average around 40" per year.

My son is mostly worried about losing fuel efficiency, which is understandable, since his car only averages about 21.5mpg (I'm guessing he's a bit of a lead foot).

The CRV is not a quiet car, so I don't want super noisy tires.
Interestingly, I've seen a surprising number of reviews stating the 365AW are pretty quiet and don't decrease MPG...which is kinda weird for an all-weather tire.

One positive, is that CRVs are surprisingly good in the snow (my wife's 03 with RT43 was good), so probably any reasonable quality tires would be fine.
His current tires are 7 year old dry-rotting Defenders. Yikes!

Sooo...not too loud, not too expensive, decent 4 season, decent handling and ride...
I'm trying to find Goldilocks tires. :)

Keep us posted on how you like the tires!
I bet they will be great.

I went with the Evertrek on her Altima several years ago as they were on special. Would have gotten them on my accord if they had my size but didn’t so the rt43 instead

I never had the chance to try the RT43’s but I put the RT45’s on our Chevy Trax last year and have been very happy with them. They are smooth, quiet and have handled the dry, rain and frozen slush we received last year in the western PA area last year. Not much snow at all last year that we drove in so not sure how they handle that.

I plan to put them on our GMC Terrain when the noisy Kelly Edge All-Seasons wear out.

General recommended the 365AW, and reminded me that there is a 45 day satisfaction guarantee.

Ordered, will be installed Thursday.

I put those on my mom’s RAV4 but can’t comment on how they handle the seasons since I’ve only driven on them a couple times in the summer. They seem to be wearing nicely and she hasn’t complained about them, so that’s a selling point for me. When mom doesn’t complain that’s a good endorsement. 🤣

I’ve got the Grabber ATX’s on my Sierra. I’m a fan of General tires.

I have a brand new set of the Falkens just sitting that I haven't installed yet but had purchased them for the other car. My 97 Civic currently has Michelin Defenders but has cracking where the tread meets the sidewall and is a common theme with their tires that were made around 10 yrs ago, luckily Michelin has stopped making this size 185/65/14. I started looking at the Toyo's but the RT45 also comes up. I have a set of Firestone snow tires already mounted that I'm going to swap so I can at least get through the yearly inspection and I won't have to do anything until Spring but either way I will need to purchase a 2nd set of tires. I may end up using the Falkens and then get another set later for the other car.

I had an issue with the brakes on the 97 with the pedal going to the floor so I'm having to drive the 99 that I parked due to the tires and the transmission needing replacement, tires are ok but noisy and wore out, passed inspection last year. I haven't found any leaks but the reservoir was low so wondering if air got into the system when I filled it back up. So far I've replaced the front brakes/rotors but wasn't really wore down at all, mostly just crusty from not driving it. My friend said he'd help me with the rear brakes and bleed out the system, I also purchased new rubber lines for it but hopefully I'll be able to start driving that one again.

So all of that could have been reduced down to you are looking at the rt45 lol

Got you. That does play a part in it
I think I've made my decision, I haven't checked the date codes on the Falkens but have been sitting on them for a year as it is. I was holding them off until I was able to get the work done on the other car but I'm going to go ahead and use them now because they are just getting older every day. That's the problem when you get older in that you really lose the sense of time, I thought it was only back in the Spring but actually Oct. when I purchased them from TireRack.
