I am looking at either the General Altimax and the Sincera SN250 a/s. has anyone tried either of these tires? how are the generals on road noise?

The General Altimax family are pretty good tires all around, noise levels are decent when newer and they slowly get noisier with age, they have risen in cost and aren't the stellar value of yesteryear . Not familiar with Sincera. The last couple sets of tires I have bought are CrossClimate II's. Pricey. Time will tell how good they really are. They are well loved by many reviewers.

I have the RT45's on my Impala in P225/70R15. I like the tire; it is quiet and good handling / cornering in a large heavy car. No data on wear yet, I have barely 1200 miles on them. I typically have to replace tires from age long before wear in all my old cars.

I was also very impressed with General Tire support, I contacted them to provide the recommended tire pressure for my car as the factory data is not applicable anymore (bias ply tire in a long obsolete size 775-14) and the engineer did the conversion from 775-14 to the modern P225/70R15's I am using and provided the info I needed.

The General RT45 will outperform the Falken Sincera SN250 in all performance categories except one.

The Sincera SN250 is probably the overall quietest tire I have ever owned. On a Honda Accord, it was extremely quiet from Day 1 through its entire lifespan (~45,000 miles). By my recollection, it was the only tire that did not increase noise levels as it aged and the tread wore out.

I want to get the generals but they are $190 more than the Sincera's after the $60 mail in rebate for falkens.

Tire Rack rates both highly. I have personal experience with the General RT43, and liked them. For $190 less, though, the Falken's would be hard to pass up.

the generals are really knocking on premium car territory with their pricing. I think the generals might be better in the winter tho..

I have the Sinceras and they're fantastic. Can't speak for wear as I've only had them for about 4,000 miles so far, but they're very comfortable, very quiet, and very good in heavy rain. Snow traction is adequate but obviously it doesn't perform like a dedicated winter tire.

Hands down on the Generals. Used them on three vehicles and they are an outstanding tire. Quiet, smooth, grippy and long lasting tread. Lasted longer than the Michelins I was using.

Objective testing and comparisons are the best source of information for tires. Luckily TR tested those exact tires against each other: https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/testDisplay.jsp?ttid=307

See what each tire excels at and decide what is most important to you. I tend to value NVH more on normie cars as I feel that any decent tire offers sufficient traction in those use cases.
It seems like general is highly rated here. I do agree though noise is a huge concern for me as I have noisy tires on my car currently, and it sounds like a pickup in the cab.
