Factory installed filter off my new Generac 18Kw generator

Had five hours on it with factory fill conventional 5w30, which came out looking like caramel ice cream topping. Hard to tell who manufactures this filter to Generac specifications. Nice coil spring and generous sized holes on the center tube.

A Fram TG4386 went back on with just a bit over two quarts of Valvoline Daily Protection 5w30. Will run that another 20 hours then switch to a synthetic 5w30.

Thanks. I always wondered what they look like inside. My 16KW Generac is about 10 years old and when I change the oil each spring the oil always looks like that. I believe it's because the exercise cycle is only 5 minutes, and it doesn't get hot enough to burn off condensation. I'll sometimes run it manually for 10 or 15 minutes in the winter to help with that.

Also, mine was filled with synthetic 5W-30 by the installer as recommended in the user manual.

I have my 16kw Generac set for biweekly exercise instead of weekly in hopes of reducing that milky looking oil. I stick to annual oil changes with 5w-30 synthetic that usually show about 30 hours of runtime.

I could be wrong, but I think a longer run time is going to reduce condensation rather than frequency. 5 minutes just doesn’t get the oil hot enough in the winter.

I know I can manually do that, but the control panel only allows an exercise setting of 5 minutes, so I made it biweekly.

Yes, need to figure out a way to make it run much longer than 5 minutes. Need to get the oil to full operating temperature for awhile.

The Generac 070185E filter looks very much like a Fleetguard LF3615 after looking further for whom may manufacture this filter for Generac, specs are (34 micron @ 98.7%).
