Mom's 2018 Tahoe, Gen V L83 5.3 and 6L80E will effectively be DOD deleted. It will have a stock-ish cam so I'm not really touching fuel, spark, air or VE. In my updated calibration I have already disabled DOD and turned off the related cylinder deactivation DTCs.

I'd like to tune the T43 TCM in it to help the torque converter all I can. With 150k-ish on the clock, the 6L has been serviced a few times... but who knows.

Perhaps this is a calling @clinebarger thread, but I'd welcome all inputs on Gen V 6L tuning. What should I touch on the trans side? And anything else?

So far I've got:
- zero out all desired slip tables
- Use DoD Slip: disable (even though it probably won't hit it when not running under DOD mode anymore)
- Add 10psi to Max pressure table cells

I followed some Gen IV 6L info, but the Apply Ramp on Gen IV was Slip RPM Error vs Torque where as Gen V is Slip RPM Error vs RPM.

I used to adjust the pressure, But learned is has no effect.....The TCM will always use the least amount of pressure to hit the desired TCC slip.
You will noticed the TCM back off on the TCC solenoid regularly to test where the threshold is.

Guessing the thermostatic bypass has already been deleted?

Disable lock-up in 1st-4th gears.

Yes, I am planning to. I have a new set of GM cooler lines that will be going on and have a Transgo cooler bypass kit going into the thermostat housing.

As always, thanks for the advice. Much appreciated.

Think I have it all prepared for write soon here. Disabled lock-up in 1st-4th in all of the shift patterns (just showing the Normal below as example), leaving 5th and 6th apply/release alone. Looked through the different patterns and basically mimicked GM's logic of 318 apply and 317 release. Also zeroed out all of the slip tables.

Also, out of curiosity, do you ever do trans builds for non-local folks (I am in Buffalo)?
