In my 1.8t I ruined my catalytic converter by overfilling, although I don't know by how much. So my suggestion would be to remove the excess oil.

In some vehicles you are ok to overfill by half a quart. I'm not sure with the 2.0 FSI. It probably won't cause a problem, but I personaly wouldn't overfill. I look at it this way; they put the max line on the dipstick for a reason. I am now over 1000 miles with the GC in and have had NO oil consumption at all. If you are using more than a quart every 3000 miles you need to have VW take a look at your car. Also, check your driveway/garage for oil spots.
