Gas vs Electric Pressure Washer

so they rate these things stupid

turn on the water.. pull the trigger to get all the air out..
then turn on power washer put in the 0degree nozzle
this is your maybe 1800psi at .8gpm or so needle of cleaning.

Then put the soap nozzle in this is your 1.75GPM.

Most gas power washers average around 2500psi at 2.5gallon or better.

Certain things take power to clean.. concrete driveway comes to mind.

if you are doing siding. you want about 1500psi but warm water helps alot if its not getting clean.

Car 1500psi is fine.
are you using the soap nozzle by mistake.. those make the noise you were mentioning.
otherwise .. seems defective.

It spitted and sputted without any attachments and just running through the hose.
 
That could be true. But it has such little pressure with the attachments on??? I could this one I have for an outdoor shower. 😂

which attachment? The soap nozzle is low pressure.
if it was the 15degree.. probably still had air somewhere or defective.

I tried every nozzle except that power one using their wand. Im confident this one is defective. It’s on its way back. I appreciate your help.
 
For washing, gpm is king-- 1.2 isn't going to get you anywhere, regardless of psi.

For comparison, even a water-saving garden hose nozzle will get you at least 2.5 gpm.

Try a different brand or a better unit. I've had good luck with the electric pressure washers.
 
so the ava p50 is 1.85 GPM at an unknown pressure, and 2000psi with an unknown gpm.

whats the gpm with a normal spray tip?

(pretty much a failing of most power washer spec sheets)

they list max gpm with no pressure.. soap nozzle or no tip.

then they list max pressure with no gpm listed.

/shrug.

Looks like a nice one but its abit pricey too.

They did the actual tests on YouTube on a detailers channel. 1.5 gpm and 1300 psi with a 25 degree tip but all the tips have same size orifice. Actually it’s a great buy when you consider the 40 ft hose and foam canon is included. Plus the 10 yr warranty.
 
I bought a electric one to do foam cannon use. I only used for that one time. It worked well. I use it 8 out of 10 times over my 2800 psi 2.7gall gas powered one. It is nice to have a lowered powered one for a lot of stuff.

You have a bad one. Mine has about 1.5 gall 1800 psi ish. It does pretty well, and with an added turbo nozzle better. Good to clean my riding mower deck etc.
 
The other reason I like have one electric and one gas is that I store my electric pressure washer in my basement, and my gas powered one in the shed. When it's cold (but not too cold) and I want to use a pressure washer I will only use the electric one, since I'm just going to put it back into my basement anyway. I wouldn't do that with the gas one because I'm not sure how much water is still left in the unit and I want to make sure whatever I can't easily get out isn't going to freeze. With the electric one, if there is still some residual leftover water I don't care since my basement never gets that cold.
 
i bought a small electric for car washing just mainly for the stop start feature . got tired of having to clean my wheels and then have to crank up the gas even time . with the electric jsut leave it on .

after using the electric to wash my car , i realized washing a car really did not need too much psi . now washing concrete and drives ways, you will need to power of gas. They do make electrics that can mimic the power of a gas one, but they are expensive for the average owner
 
Well I got the AVA electric going last night. It was so much fun. Now I know my first electric washer was defective. thanks for all your help and advice.
 
It’s really awesome for a 68 year old man to giggle when he foams his cars. The “wash cloth” almost slides off the hood it’s so slick. Oh, and the smell of the soap. I may be developing some weird intimate fetish relationship that’s not AI. Deep breath…inhale, exhale, thumbs touching index fingers…
