Not here, in fact a new one (Murphys) just opened. We never had one of those before. Also they make a good profit on gas I believe, certainly more than my dad did back in the 60's and 70's, when he made under 2 cents per gallon, and only pumped about 1000 gallons per day. There wern't any convenience stores then, and he did oil changes, minor repairs, sold batteries and tires, and washed and waxed cars too. Of course sold pop, candy, and cigarettes.


Your Pop made more on gasoline then current owners on gas. The average is about 5 cents a gallon.

With inflation 2 cents equals 8 cents in 1976 dollars.

BTW for some reason some Mid-westerners have been posting cent lately when using the plural from of cents. For some reason this is one of the extremely few misuses of the English language that gets the best of me. 99.9999999999% I really do not care. But it is cents not cent.
 
I was at a local BP the other day in DE. and some clown used
a sawzall to cut through the shops wall and steal all the cigarettes. All of this on a 4 lane busy highway. Who needs the headache?
