With the over night rise in gas prices here, by .20 a gallon, and watching the local news tonight in Grand Rapids, Mi., where do you think gas prices will be a year from now? I'm thinking $4.00 per gallon.
I was thinking $4.00 a gallon in more like 6 months(or less) especially with the super cold harsh winter that is already upon us. Home heating oil has to surge.
The prediction that I heard on BNN was $120 to $130 a for a barrel of oil by the end of the summer. If that is the case, at least here in Canada, you can see $1.20 to $1.30L for gas. I can see in the near future again, the end of cheap gas. I feel for the people that heat with oil.
Drill baby, drill. It aggrevates me so bad that we have so much oil on tap, so many sources to go after in this country and the enviromentalist fruitcakes have about every angle stopped in the name of wildlife or planet Earth. It amazes me how a small bunch can hold up production for a whole country. we could have cheap oil and lots of jobs, do we really need the manatees?
I'm going out on a limb and predicting LOWER gas prices this time next year. I believe we will be back in (world wide) recession by then. The only thing that may change this is WW3, which isn't so far fetched with all the nut jobs in the middle east and NK.
To Jonny from Sweden: Your $9.00 a gallon gas is because of taxes. We start groaning when gas goes above $3.00 because we are already very OVERTAXED to begin with. Most Americans are living paycheck to paycheck, if they are lucky enough to have a paycheck.
The more the oil prices can be driven up, the more attractive the wind & solar & ethanol scam looks. A genuine wasteful narrow minded & damaging way to accomplish an energy plan by force.

That is because we live beyond our means.
mWhat makes a sad monent fun is all the people who bought gas guzzeling vehicles after the last spike in gas prices. My daughter wanted to buy a Ford F150 to drive around. She ended up with a Ford Focus which I thought was wise.
I'm possibly in the market for another vehicle. I really want a truck, but the thought of $4 or even $5 gallon makes me think about a fuel efficient ride instead.

Start of recession #2.
As soon as the major players decide they've had enough of the USD and stop using it as the world's currency, look out. Position yourself wisely.

Yes we do live above our means but that doesn't change the fact that Americans are overtaxed.
Our goverment spends our money faster than they can take it in (not to mention giving it to foreign countries).
