"gas" oil any advantage over "fleet"?

Do gas engine rated oils, that generally have fewer additives, have any advantage over the diesel or fleet rated oils? (For example Chevron Supreme versus Chevron Delo.)
Less sulfated ash might be considered an advantage, sometimes. Less magnesium, too.
Anything else?

Fleet oils or heavy duty engine oils are made to stand up to commercial use.

I think diesel-rated oils tend to poison your catalytic converter, but it's a TINY difference, and if you lived where I lived, your cat would rust out quicker than it could get poisoned by ANY oil.

I've been using HDEO (Diesel oil SL rated) for two years in both my Jeeps 4.0L engines.One has the two pre-cats off the exhaust manifold,and my emission tests for both done in June, shows an IMPROVEMENT in emissions since the last tests done 2 years ago!So if my catalytic convertors are being ruined by the Esso XD-3 HDEO I'm using then the E tests don't show this happening

The Chevron Supreme would likely yield better gas mileage and have better cold cranking properties.

As time goes on, I expect to see more diesel only oils as diesel requirements get tougher.

A diesel only rated oil would be bad for cats, but many diesel oils are also rated for gas engines.
I really have no idea if gas only rated oils have any advantage (except more avalibility and greater choice of oil weights) over HDEO oils.
