Hey guys I drove my 2004 Accord LX with 4 cylinder
Auto trans from Delaware to Atlanta and back and averaged 36 mpg with the A/C running. I probably averaged about 60-65 mph.
Is that great or what?

I was behind a PA driver merging onto I95 and the moron hit their brakes in the acceleration lane! Apparently they were a bit confused about "deceleration" and "acceleration".

Then, to top it off, this driver waited until I moved over before he/she moved over.

People like that should just fly everywhere.

lukey,
Yep, 36mpg is nice in an Accord. The key is your speed here, 60-65 mph will return you nice results.

I always wonder, as I'm driving down the highway where the speed limit is 65 and I'm driving 68 or so...what are people in these Ford Excursions getting when they are going 85mph?

As I mentioned when I started this topic, I feel part of the reason that I got 49mpg in the Civic on this trip was that there was a good section of the road that had a posted limit of 45mph...

Now that I'm back to my shorter trip routine for now, I've noticed my around town mileage has dropped back to the 42mpg range.
