Just changed to Amsoil 5W30 synthetic in my 2002 Honda Civic Si (2.0L with balance shafts in oil pump) and have noticed tiny gas bubbles in the oil on the dipstick after driving? Is this normal for synthetics? I have never seen the bubbles with dino.

I would suggest the balance shaft is whipping quite a bit of air into the oil. I am surprized you haven't noticed it with the dino.
I have tiny bubbles on the dipstick of my Escort using Red Line. The 2.0 SOHC engine does not have a balance shaft, and the car and engine have 210,000 miles. When I first noticed this, it was alarming because these bubbles looked at first like metallic particles in the oil. It took a while to figure out that they were bubbles. They are very tiny and the dipstick usually has no more than one or two--often none. By the way, the car uses no oil and the area inside the valve cover that is visible through the oil filler cap is very clean. As with the first poster, I don't remember the bubbles before I switched from conventional oil at about 100,000 miles, but if an occasional bubble goes with using synthetic, then I must say I'm pretty happy.
i saw bubbles when i used amsoil PI in my dipstick. after i changed my oil it was gone though. just my 2 cents.
