I just bought a used '05 G35 6MT with 55k miles on it about 4 weeks ago. For the past 3 weeks I was second guessing myself every time I drove it because it was just so hard to shift. There were times when I would just forget about shifting into 2nd gear and shift straight from 1st to 3rd because 2nd gear was so rough to get into gear.
I had read many posts on several G35 and 350z sites about how much a difference Red Line fluid makes, so this weekend I took the plunge and changed out the transmission fluid on the 6MT. Several of the posts I had seen had used both Red Line MT-90 and MTL-90, but I just went straight MT-90. Dunno if it would have been even better by mixing the 2 but the difference just the MT-90 made was incredible. During the 15-20 miles I've driven since swapping it out it's been 45-50 degrees outside versus the 80 degrees it's been here all week and yet it is [censored] nice and smooth.
So just wanted to throw it out there that anyone that's on the fence about swapping out the factory fill in there G35 with Red Line should just do it, you'll be pleasantly surprised.
