I have received drum pricing on Full Synthetic bio-based 5w-20 and 2X refined conventional 5w-20, 5w30, 10w30 and 15w40.

Quote:
G-Oil that is now ready for order from our blender Delta Group, Chicago, IL . We offer a Full Synthetic bio-based oil or a refined GREEN oil that is bio-degradable unlike any other re-refined oil on the market.

If it moves at the drum level I am sure it will trickle down to the consumer sizes.

Due to the way it's manufactured (animal fats...) I'm guessing they got "stumped" as to how to adjust the viscosity. Is there a viscosity difference between beer, and bacon? :P

All seems to "collect" the same in my grease jars.....lol.

Is it still SM?

I have not seen the TDS or MSDS for the 5w-20 or any of the re-refined products. I do have the price listing for bulk orders up to truckload. I also received pricing for G-oils TC-W3.

I have seen it in little bottles on the shelf at Wal Mart but its rather expensive oil for me. I used Valvoline nextgen to try and go green.

I'm really curious if 'G-Oil' will survive.

It took them forever to get to market, and when they did, it was only with one grade (5w30) that most manufacturers no longer use.

Plus, it came out just as there was a switch from SM to SN, so the oil is now tecnicaqlly out of date, and they are only now just starting to get a 5W-20 to market, as many manufacturers are moving to 0W-20!

Plus, the only way they seem to be selling this oil is with free-oil rebates....how long 'till they admit they can't hang with the market and give up?

BTW, i've got nothing against G-Oil, I'd use it if I could get it, but oh, sorry, we don't sell it in Canada!

:P

I am curious about the re-refined oil because it is priced at conventional oil pricing and still bio degradable. I should receive more detail sometime in the next week or so.

Any particular reason? I'd imagine that if G.E.T. didn't use it, it'd go to waste?

Unfortunatley, mass producton of algae oil is way out into the future.

And if the viscosity and add pack is right for your engine, do you think its going matter one iota?
