Has anyone used this stuff at my local Sam's club they was selling it at the gas station.

I've been using it for 10 years...works great...can be expensive though...how much was it at Sams...?
I've gotten it at stop n shops @ 3 cans for $30, and the last 2 at a thrift for $2/ea!

I use it once a month or so to keep 8-year old headlights' plastic clear...It works well on the windows to bead rain.

I use it as a quick wax job and find that it lasts for a good 2 months here in sunnysouthFlorida...

Kitacamry's 8-yr old clearcoat is still in good shape and a couple times a week I pull a towel over it to remove the morning dew and dirt...keeping most of the dirt off the finish likely adds to the wax's longevity...

Verdict: recommended.

I have some waterless wash but have not used it. Do you pre wash it to get the gritty dirt off first?

Yes, if there is sand, mud, or grit then at least a rinse off is prudent. If its not that bad then use the waterless wash.

FW1 is your basic spray carnauba...
Like any other similar product, it doesn't need any effort in that you don't wait for it to dry very much...just spray it on a clean car, of course.

FW1 update...

Still beading after 4 months...very pleased...looks like it can go for another month...we'll see...

I have at least a half dozen waterless washes so I thought I'd give the FW1 a try. EBAY had the best offering....Two cans + a microfiber towel for $29.99 shipped.

Thanks

Dry first as it will use less product.

But it is represented as a waterless wash and wax. When I get mine I'm going to use it that way on a mildly dirty surface to evaluate it. That's how I test the other similar products I have. I doubt it will but even if it scratches the heck out of the paint I have the equipment & chemicals to polish the surface back to near perfection.

Your picture of beading is impressive. If it sheeted all the water off of the surfaces I'd buy a case of it.

Just for the record I received this today along with a MF towel.
A quick test on a dirty hood in a 100ºF+ garage took place shortly thereafter. The car was dirty, no two ways about it, so I used a bit more than would normally be called for. It cleaned well, flashed (glazed over) quickly, and wiped off without any fuss.

The look is indeed that of carnauba with nice highlights. The feel is not very slick at all which is disappointing but I'll give it till tomorrow to judge that. Some products take time for the slickness to show. With some they just don't get slick at all so we shall see.

My thoughts are that it is very convenient to use but a little more time is required to give it an overall rating. Durability is not in the criteria for a product such as this so it won't even be considered.

Due to the temperature in the garage this was a VERY short test so more information is yet to come. If this is found in a thrift store as described above for cheap I'd say jump on it purely for the decent outcome and ease of use. For full price? Can't see it but there is more evaluation to do.

Is it transparent? I like my Wet Paint Glaze but I wish it was not white/pink in color. FW1 might be good replacement if the droplets don't stand out after drying.

I occasionally test this by wiping off morning dew from trunk and top to compare to the front hood and all three are equally free of "drop spots"...

Florida hot sun and strong rain, not to mention ash from burning cane fields, are tough on car finishes, so at least a couple of times a week I wipe horizontal surfaces clean...it seems to be a key in getting ANY wax to keep its finish.

It dries clear. So far I still see Wet Paint as the reigning champion. Simply don't spray it in areas where it will be difficult to wipe off. Spray a bit on the towel to get those areas.

I just went out to check the feel of the hood that was cleaned with FW-1 yesterday. The slickness had increased slightly but not super slippery as WP leaves it almost immediately. All in all it seems to work well but is rather expensive compared to other waterless washes. I doubt I'll replace it once used up unless it's at Big Lots at a huge discount.

Next week will be 5 months with FW1....and last week my neighbor's Corolla got waxed....last night it rained as thought this might make for an interesting/fun sideXside...

After a cleansing thunder shower today, 5 months into this wax job, not a hint of "standing" drops...sheeting effect left finish clean and slick...
