Diesel put in 87 Gas tanks at Sam's Club Ohio

Wowzers

Even if 87 is put into 93 tanks, if caught all the dispensers are shut off and regular must be pumped out and several people are reprimanded

That's not a good day for anyone, going to cost a few dollars to make things right. I'm just glad they didn't put gas in the diesel tank. That oops would have been well over a million dollars to make people whole again.

I remember watching Steve Lehto on youtube talking about this same issue. He always gets a receipt at the pump just in case to prove he was involved because there will be scores of people claiming issues that were never there and many people will be denied compensation.

I just filled up today at Sunoco
Thanks for the Anxiety
My local Sunoco doesn't even sell Diesel....I may start going to that one... 😃

Doesn't Sam's Club require a membership to purchase gas at their pumps? If so, then they should know which members made purchases at that location after the contamination and before the detection. If they also have the data as to which pump the member used, then all the better.

I've made it a point to get the receipt in case someone tries to accuse me of not paying. Now I have another reason.

Almost all fuel apps I've used have a digital receipt stored and some will cc your email with it, too.

I'm a Luddite and don't use fuel apps. :D

Actually, come to think of it, I tend to use Speedway and I have their app on my phone and they do show the transactions that earn me points. But I want that paper.

diesel fuel for the cost of regular gas, what's not to like ;)
I remember when I was a kid, diesel used to be cheaper.

This story reminds me that Advantage at rental used to rent out diesel VWs. I read a few renters put the wrong fuel in before returning.

I think I may have even been assigned one as I pulled out with a diesel rental car one time and it didn't seem to be running right and we pulled back in to swap the car out.

The gas pump nozzle will fit in a diesel spout right but diesel won't fit in the gas spout? Is that correct?

it's correct in europe, the gas nozzles for lead free fuel are narrower, so it's hard to fit diesel or leaded fuel in a car needing unleaded. But where there's a will, there's a way....

Bad deal for a lot of folks. That said, better diesel in a gasoline vehicle, than gasoline in a diesel. It would be way more expensive and cause a lot more damage to the HPCR and the engine itself.
