2015 with the 2.0 Ecoboost
So what oil and mileage for changes?
Always used full synthetic. Motorcraft, Royal Purple, Ams Oil, Mobil 1, Castrol Magnatec and Edge, Pennzoil UP is what i can remember. I started using MC for the first 100k and did Blackstone analysis. Then i started using other oils to see how they compare. The oil analysis didnt show any significant changes between brands. So now I just buy whatever is on sale.
As for OCI, I did 5k for the first 3 oil changes. Then i switched to 7500 and have done that ever since. I did do a couple of higher mileage OCIs. Around 9k. I work in Manhattan so this car sees a lot of stop and go traffic.
Lol! The 2.5 is a good engine. My wife has it in her Escape but it is super slow. The early 2.0 EB engines are pretty good and reliable. I never had an issue with this engine and except for this leak in the 10 years that i’ve owned it. I’ve changed front axles shafts, control arms, and struts last year.
I've got a 2.0 Ecoboost in the garage right now. Seems to be running good, the car has a lot of other problems though.
That sucks. I’ve had pretty good luck with Fords.
It was owned by a youth who painted all the chrome with flat black, so that looks terrible. They also installed different springs and a loud exhaust. There's been some work on the front of the car and a lot of wiring behind the bumper cover was just unsecured.
It's currently owned by a youth who doesn't know much about cars.
The roof has a bunch of residue where it looks like the sunroof was taped over with duct tape.
When I got to it, there were a bunch of lights on on the dash. I think if I owned it, I could get it pretty squared away eventually.
I didn't know this, but I guess the 2.0 Ecoboost is a Mazda L engine, like the 2.3 and 2.5. The 1.5/1.6 is not related. I'm kind of warming up to the 2.0T!
The 2.5 NA and the 2.0 EB are excellent engines.
