Well I had to reach 50 bucks to get free shipping on an order and was a couple bucks short so I threw in a FULL brand filter for our Pontiac in. Anyone ever cut one of these open? On the outside this PF47 equivalent seems to be extremely strong and durable. The baseplate looks a lot like a German Bosch OEM filter. Im going to run it next time and will try to cut her open and post on here.

thai made and from what Ive seen, inferior quality, though surely "good enough". In some applications they look undersized.

What was inferior about the ones you saw? The one I got seems quite well put together.

The being made in Thailand part does not bother me so much.

inferior in that the air filter that we had did not have as plush or as fuzzy a media as the OEM honda and toyota ones did. The filter cans felt soft, they were smaller than OE, and I noted rust spekels on the threaded end.

They must have changed then. The one I got has a lot stiffer can than I have seen on Purolators, were the same size as the PF47 at Wal Mart, and rust free. They may of gotten their act together.

The FULL I used on my wife's Corolla seemed like a good filter. Nothing special but not junk, either. I'd use one again if they were as easily available as Frams without issue.

Puros asfar as I have seen have the thinnest cans out there.
