I'm posting this here sort of by default, since it's one of those "falls-in-the-cracks" kinds of questions that doesn't fit anywhere obvious. So if the mods want to move it, be my guest.
Anyway... here's the problem: I ran across a new, unopened 64oz bottle of charcoal lighter fluid. I no longer use charcoal, and I don't know anyone who does. I would like to dispose of it responsibly, which obviously precludes pouring it down the drain or on the ground, etc. So maybe I can burn it in a) one of the cars or b) one of the 4-cycle small engines or c) one of the 2-cycle small engines that I have around here. Not the whole 64 oz at a time, necessarily, but maybe, say, 8 oz at a time in a tank or a 5-gallon can.
I suspect that charcoal lighter fluid is something like very clean kerosene, right? So maybe it also could be used in a wick-type lamp?
My preferred approach would be to put maybe 8 oz of it into a full 5-gallon can of gas that's used for both the 4-cycle small engines and to make oil-gas mix for the 2-cycle engines. Or maybe 1/4 of it into a full 15-gallon tank in one of the cars. I assume that there's nothing in kerosene that would damage a catalytic converter, but I don't know.
