The electric fuel pump on my Mustang has been getting louder and louder the last couple of years. The whine was loud enough that sometimes you could even hear it while the engine was running at idle, not just before the engine started.

The last 2 tanks of fuel I've run included 3oz of Fuel Power. The pump whine is almost inaudible now. I can barely hear it before the engine is running, and never once it is.

Anyone else had any results like this after using Fuel Power or is it just a coincidence?

I ran some Techron through it before I put the car away last fall and it didn't make any difference. I'm wondering now if the FP is just enough of a lubricant to have made this difference...

I was surfing BITOG and saw this item, and it dawned on me: Last time taking the car in for service / RPM I mentioned the fuel pump making a noise about 10 seconds after starting. Granted, that was in colder weather, but then again we also had a freak cold snap (some snow on the ground May 15 has happened maybe 4 times in the last 200 years)....anyway, I don't recall hearing that noise in the last month or two. Might be the additives!
The noise was deemed a nuisance, and nothing to be concerned about, BTW.
