Fuel Mileage drop

Since PP "synthetic" only is a dino oil that has been further hydrocracked than the group 2 dino, this should not mean anything.
None of them are synthetic.

Remember, the US is about the only place where you can sell a dino oil, and call it synthetic.
As mentioned before, true synthetic oil is group 4 and up.

Ok, I drove across town today and filled up at a gas station I don't normally use. So far my mileage is up from 21mpg to 24mpg. My original was 23mpg. Evidently its fuel related. I appreciate everyone input.
Thanks

I have noticed this before in my vehicles. I use my truck the same just about every day and see variations that i consider normal due to conditions. Every once in a while the mileage will drop 2 to 3 mpg. Instantly i freak out and try to fix something but low and behold after a couple tanks of gas its right where it should be. i believe that every once in a while a gas station will get some low grade gas or get some water in it or something. If i notice anything like that i usually get gas somewhere else for a while before going to the place i usually stop.

It also how you top up the tank, the only consistant way is to leave the noozle on "low" flow and fill until it clicks off using the same pump at the same station. Even doing that I find my mileage ranges from 30 to 40mpg depending on how I drive and where.
Also the station I fill up at says the 87 octane may contain up to 10% ethanol. So I imagine there is some variance there too.

Its possible that regular pennzoil was alittle bit thinner even though its still a 5W30...PP seems to be on the thicker side.

"PP seems to be on the thicker side." Ya know,I`ve noticed that to.
