Fuel injector service

Has anyone ever had their fuel injectors cleaned & serviced? I've found several places online that'll do this, and the cost is typically $25 each. Should I just pick one?

Use an in-tank cleaner and save yourself some money. What kind of car? Injector cleaners can be harmful to some injectors.

I haven't had that done, but I did install replacement injectors in my Mustang that had been cleaned & serviced. They were not "brand new". They did make a difference, the main one being that car starts up much quicker now. Also seems like it accelerates smoother.

I replaced them because they were leaking externally.

The injectors I got came from a company who has a website at http://www.hyperjective.com -- I bought the replacement injectors off Ebay.

I'm trying to determine whether or not I have a leaky injector. One option is to buy a set of junkyard (working!) injectors and have them cleaned & rebuilt.

I got mine from http://www.lindertech.com/

They even offer an exchange program, if they have injectors in stock for your car, you buy the injectors from them, swap them in for the old injectors, and send the old ones back for a core charge. Your final cost will be the cost of cleaning plus shipping.

If you can get them flow balanced that's a plus. The online places that do this brag about how poorly matched some injectors can be from the factory (if you can believe their worst case scenario). If you do this then each cylinder will be pulling its fair share, the o2 sensor will consistently feed back to the computer, and there'll be less wasted gas.
