Fuel injector cleaning kit

So, a year ago, a ClubGPer made a kit for running a strong solvent cleaner through the schrader valve. This is the kit that he put together. The website is the company that he worked for

The meat of the product was this

1 ea. R-12 freon can TOP tapper, they're still out there but you'll have to search.
2 ea. Brass 1/4" NPT Male to 1/4" barbed adapters
1 ea. Brass 1/4" NPT Tee connector
2 ea. clamps to fit the hose
1 ea. 1/4" NPT pressure gauge.


It's Saturday, and I am bored, so I thought about pricing one out to build myself.

But, I was surfing Ebay, and found this

Do these look like the same thing to you? Even if I have to change out the gauge to a 0-60 psi, I would still come out ahead if I am viewing it right.

No, for professional injector cleaners. I guess I didn't explain it well enough. Below is some info on the injector cleaners. What this is is a cheaper way to do the porfessional injector cleaning service than some quick change places do

"This one is designed to connect to the Borg-Warner "pro clean" cans from the top. It's described as "Professional Fuel Injector Cleaner #CSF56 with Intake Valve Cleaner Additive" It's sold by many parts stores but you've got to ask for it, I bought my can at PepBoys for something like $8.99. It's the same stuff they charge you $70 to run a single can through your car. NAPA also carries the product as theior "Echlin" brand "pro clean" - same stuff."

Looks like it would work.
Bit pricey for the cleaner tho.
I wonder how much better it is than using adds in the thank.

The cleaners run about $10. The service runs from $70 up. It looks like the end of the connector will have to be filed down in order to get the schrader valve depressed.

I've seen these kits damage injectors, specifically the GM ball seat style. I don't think they are needed and are too strong. Either use an in-tank cleaner or remove the injectors and have them professionally cleaned.

Do you have any links T-Keith?

Do you really think your injectors are clogged? I think in most cases the injectors are not a problem, and there is some other problem. Use some Chevron Techron in the tank.
