Fuel injector cleaner

I would stick with a brand name gas station, such as Shell, and use a PEA based cleaner prior to an oil change as outlined above. When you're due for spark plugs, pull the injectors out and get them cleaned professionally on an ASNU machine. I send mine to Trav.

I use Top Tier fuel exclusively and have for 5 years plus in my only car. About once a year just a hint of a rough idle occurs noticeably in neutral. Techron's 20-ounce dose to a 16-gallon tank smoothes it out by the time it goes from full to 3/4. Toyota 3.5l V-6 RAV4 with about 35K on the clock. Top tier or not a top shelf fuel additive is a necessary evil in my situation.

I only use TT and I use a cleaner ever oil change though I do it differently than pretty much everyone else. I put it in AFTER the oil change. I figure if there is anything in the oil due to the fuel and the cleaner the brand new filter would be better at catching it than a used filter. Juts my opinion though.
