... blown away by 2 carbs on 2 blowers assisted by nitrous oxide, but I'd definitely remember to attach the steering wheel.

It's kinda neat for the novelty ...but ...for some odd reason ..I've never seen any pro-shop/team/etc. ever do something like that. One would think that overdriving one blower would accomplish the same goals of VME.

How does he see

Gotta watch those garage parking lot ceilings and drive through overhangs

Lab tops and wide band O2 sensors rule!!!! Their are not too many people my age that can tune a carb and a fuel injection system. You would not belive how many youg people think a carb comes out of the box ready to rock!

I think the old "Super B" rally cars were great. They used a Roots blower for rapid take off and then the twin turbos kicked in for the really high rpm work. Mercdes road car uses a blower with a bypass. The car can accellerate hard using the blower and then it is bypassed for crusing.

A useless trailer queen. What's the point in having all the hardware if it isn't used for it's purpose? Reading the thread, I found this... "I started it late this afternoon just to see if it would run or break anything and it ran fine. It is uncapped right now so it was loud and the idle surge was from 500-2700 rpm. I only let it run for a couple minutes and then shut it off to hook up the throttle linkage and other stuff. By the time I was done, it was too late to fire it back up uncapped in my neighborhood. I will work on it tomorrow and hopefully get the idle surge a little better and then take it for a drive. I know I won't be able to get on it but it will be nice to go for a spin. I'll let you know how it turns out tomorrow. I also will be taking it to the Royal GTO's car show on Sunday at Capitol Pontiac in Greenbelt, Md. I won't feel comfortable driving it the 40 miles each way yet so I will trailer it this time. I hope to be cruising around with it next week."
So he starts it "to see if it would run or break anything". Idle fluctuates from 500 to 2500, probably from pulses through the carb, and he fired an open exhaust car in a neighborhood, another brilliant example of his thought process. But, in some strange way I envy his cash flow....

.... driving an electric car that has huge torque from 0-6000rpm, and no need for shifting anymore. Except that range and battery weight/life would suck.

I enjoyed my 1968 Dodge Charger with a 440. I installed the Six Pack set up...Man it was sure fun fine tuning those three carbs...all 1200 cfm's full

My 83 Suzuki 1100 needed the synch to be checked on the four carbs every 2500 miles as I recall, which was easy enough with a 'mercury stick'. The 24 valves were checked every 5000 miles. The now antique bike was good for 120mph in the 1/4 mile at around 11 flat, and would do 0 to 60 in less than 3 seconds. I put over 80k miles on the bike before it was stolen. The new bikes are obviously quicker, where $10 grand or a bit more gets you 135mph to 140 mph in the 1/4 mile at around 10 flat, with top speeds often around 180 mph. Expert racers with better tires have hit the high 9s in the 1/4 mile with stock bikes.

My Suzuki was driven hard and never had a problem, only needing tires, chains, a few cables, brake pads, filters, lubricants, etc., and maintenance.

Better look at the 20 or so vaccum hoses on late 80s Japanese carbs before wishing for their return. Fuel injection and even simple throttle bodies just have better tuneablity to stricter air emissions standards which last time I looked are still getting stricter.
