Hi everyone,
I have a 98 camry that seems to have the fuel filler opening lid "stuck" in the closed position. I just filled it up yesterday and it opened fine then, but this morning when I tried to pop it open to add some FP60 (via the latch by the driver seat) it wouldn't open. Does anyone know what could cause this? Broken spring inside? Broken latch? Someone suggested that I pry it open but I am not sure brute force is the best solution. The FSM I have doesn't seem to cover this.
This is the first time I've seen this and frankly I am puzzled at how something this simple can break down. Or is this considered normal wear and tear? I would hate to see people pull up to get gas on a empty tank only to find that they can't open the lid. Oh well, at least I have enough gas to last me throughout the week. Thanks in advance for any advice.
