Fuel additive for 2 stroke engine

Didnt know whether to post this here or in the powersports forum. Maybe I will do both.

I was doing some reading on fuel additives, searching for something that would be safe to run in a 2 stroke snowmobile engine. It all started with some reading I did on the effects of ethanol gas on 2 stroke engines like chainsaws, weedwackers, etc. Since snowmobiles are so expensive I was thinking of using a stabilizer all the time, not just at layup time. It would also be nice to find something that would clean the fuel system.

Right now I am thinking of sta-bils new marine version which has increases levels of fuel system cleaner.

I'd use a good 2 cycle oil as per mfg suggestion and tweak it with MMO. It's worked well in 2 cycle engines for my family, and many people I know for decades.

I use just a tad of 2 stroke oil in the gas. And some RL gas cleaner at the season start. Make sure your mainjets are clean or disaster will follow.

I second the MMO - used it for years in my small Generator and Weed-eater / Leaf blower / 2-stroke 49cc Scooter / etc.

No mechanical problems and no real carbon build-up either. The stuff just flat works.
Dosage was 1/2 oz. per gallon (both on pre-mix and injector system).

Not trying to turn this into another MMO thread, just the truth.

I would use FPPlus myself. It is a great fuel stabilizer.
