Hello everyone. I need some input on sta-bil fuel stabilizer. This is for my boat gas, motor is a 1991 150hp oil injected Mercury outboard. I buy NON-ethanol gas for my boat but don't know which sta-bil to use. The green marine formula made for ethanol or the red stuff. Here at my Academy the green marine stuff is cheaper per gallon of gas treated than the red but it states that it is made specifically for ethanol gas.

What are your thoughts? Marine sta-bil or the regular red bottle? Thanks!!!

Thanks. I was hoping to hear that. I can get a bottle that treats up to 320 gallons for $20. But, the way I mix it it will only treat about half that.

Why is this such a different question than the active thread still on the front page? Or the many results in a search for "stabilizer"?

Most people seem to just use Sta-bil, although more than a few have been dissatisfied and use Pri-G or Amsoil AST with better results. I am part of that camp, seeing noticeably better stabilization from AST than from Sta-bil in deposit-sensitive OPE.
