Oem would be the best, depending on how much they want!

If you are able to cut and dissect these filters, you can certainly compress a spring and change a strut.

Well, 2 front struts minus springs were $420~ my cost. Will be installing them this Sunday on brothers car. Springs look ok so if ain't broke; ain't getting replaced

I would replace the strut bearing mounts on the front. In the past i have tried not replacing them. I regretted it, noise and popping when they failed.

$420 *just* for the two front struts, just the bare struts?

You probably could've gotten all four quick struts for that price!

You will be glad you did. Sometimes the old ones come apart after taking the mounts off ( at least on saturns that happened to me).

I have reused rear mounts with out issue.

eek that's still more than the price of two KYB quick struts! And you still have to use the spring compressor

2010 and it needs front struts already ? Wow. My Buick still has its original front struts. They're 17 years old and still work fine. Pretty sure they were made by Monroe.

The car is simi-retired. I drive it real slow. 35 miles per hour is the fastest I go around town. Every once in a while I'll get up to 40 if there's enough distance between red lights. On the freeway, I drive at a retro 55 with the cruise control set. I see people drive their cars real hard. I cringe every time I hear somebody go full throttle on a city street.

I do not drive over 80 mph and my driving is 95% highway. Brothers is 60highway and 40 short trips. He had a mechanic check the springs and he said they are ok

Thanks for everyone's recommendations

Those years when the American autos were going through restructuring, the quality of foreign autos were awful.
Those 2008-2012 vehicles are not that well built, incl. my Lexus.!!!

They could reduce their quality and maximize profits because the Americans auto industry were finding lawyers to go in and out of bankruptcy.!!!
