Well, I wanted to pick up a few things earlier today at one of the local Wal-Mart's, and, of course, I had to take a stroll through the oil section.
After admiring the new Mobil collection, I noticed that they had two different prices on the shelf for the same Castrol High Mileage product...$2.42 and $2.58 I believe.
Remembering the post I saw on here the other day about Wal-Mart, I took a quart up to customer service. Explained to the young lady that I heard that they have a policy that when an item is mispriced, you'll "give it away" for no-cost.
She said "yes, as long as it's less than $3".
So at this point, I'm pretty psyched since I'll be getting some free oil. Well, she started to ring me up and printed out a few receipts. At this point, she asked me for "my receipt".
"Excuse me?"
"I need your receipt".
"I didn't purchase anything ma'am...just saw the pricing error on the shelf".
Now she gets rude..."Well, in that case, you'll have to pay the lower price".
"But I thought you sold it for no-cost if there is a pricing error".
"No...you pay the lower price".
"Ok ma'am, it's not that important to me. Sorry for the misunderstanding".
Oh well...I was trying to be very polite and didn't want to start an argument and make a scene over a quart of oil.
What say you?
