Been married long time, so I can only offer what those who are younger have said.
The cheaper the app, the less sincere the applicant pool is. If you spend the $$$ for the more expensive services, you get people who are interested in longer term relationships.
It kind of depends what you are looking for.

I don't know about the apps, but I can tell you that a family member has had good success (happily married for over a decade) with eharmony. I can recommend that...

As man who met my wife on a paid website. People who are already cheaping out to find somebody might not be somebody you want to have a long relationship. It is worth it to budget it for a paid membership.
I think its a far better way to find whats out there than at work or local bar. Met my GF on POF 2 years ago. Moved in with her. She's been a lifesaver, literally. Was there for me when i had my recent cardiac event.

I agree. Meeting a chick at a bar is probably the worst place. You'll either end up with an alcoholic,a chick who can't grow up and think it's "cute" to party,or a barfly who will be there like clockwork around a bunch of drunk dudes when she's not with you.

Free dating apps, pay websites, Bars, Churches, whatever. You could meet the one for you anywhere. I guess with dating Apps, websites, etc, at least the other people are also actively looking for a connection. Good luck.

Be advised, scammers can be rampant. What I mean is, a guy behind the female picture, eventually $$$ is asked for.
Learn how to do a 'google image search', if you don't know already. Some can be obvious, just throwing it out there, keep it lite.

I'm well aware of the scammers. I've been on POF a number of times but haven't met but one girl, whom I dated for about three months. I've been single since this time 2015.
I still think the virtual companion is a good idea, but that thread got locked, so I guess we can't talk about it anymore. In the mean time, it would be nice to date someone.

Yes I am! Things happen for a reason i guess. Live alone for 11 years, move in with someone and have a life changing cardio event shortly after. i keep thinking how it could have happened when I was living alone. They find me a week later when the neighbor complains about a smell...
