So I know they are both TP bypass filters, but which one would you consider better? They both do the same thing, but which one is easier to use, mount etc.

You are correct, they both filter the same and both are excellent bypass filter options. Both are relatively the same in size, so the mounting is basically also the same.

I have used both on my 6.0 PSD. I highly prefer the Motor Guard because the "T" handle setup of the Motor Guard makes TP change out a breeze and there is ZERO mess. It's as simple as unscrewing the "T" handle, removing the old TP, putting a new roll in and then screwing down the "T" handle.

Well........I don't know how to answer your question with a specific dollar amount. If the Motor Guard was twice as much as the Frantz then I might think a little harder about purchasing the MG compared to the Frantz being that they filter the same. An additional 20-30 bucks is worth it to me for something that's easier to change out and less messy.

Frantz is more compact and it comes with everything you need to install. I fit two of them on the size of a battery tray in the engine bay of my compact car.

I may be looking for a frantz for ATF bypass. Only thing I am worried about it converting back to stock while still under warranty. Oil filter is as easy as removing a sandwich filter, but the ATF will be a little more difficult.

I think the Motorguard would work better for oil, because it is easier to change with the T twist on and off, but the ATF filter, needing to be changed less, will benefit me in the lower price.

Good to head deep squat, that was my plan, thanks for backing me up. Now I patiently wait for my MG to arrive in the mail in America, then wait impatiently to get home, bring it back to Japan, and install it here.

I have both...the motorguard on the engine the frantz on the tranny....the motor guard s hands down the easiest to change the element...the frantz is a bear! I only do it twice a year ....yet i dread it ...tough to get the snapring back on to hold the element on place...as for ease of converting back to stock ...both would take the same 15 minutes
