Got any tools you've cobbled together for this job or that? My example is my Craftsman C3 1/2" impact wrench, fitted with a Makita 18V battery adapter, a Neiko 1/2" to 1/4" hex adapter, and a Dewalt magnetic impact bit holder. I needed to tighten down a loose deck screw and my impact driver is on loan to my Father in law at the moment. I'm buying him one for his birthday in March since I can't stand being without a tool.

One ugga dugga and it will be.
Maybe? This impact is ancient compared to modern offerings. I think the max torque on it was advertised as ~200 ft/lbs, which probably isn't that much greater than my Makita impact driver. Those bits are consumables anyway and I've got a bunch of them.
I've got some open end wrenches that have been ground to 1/2 the normal width to fit somewhere specific. Don't remember what it is but the wrenches are ready.
I was watching a lawn mower repair video recently where the guy had ground down a wrench to remove a fuel solenoid. Pretty ingenious.

I wish I had taken pictures of some of the stuff I have rigged up over the years to get stuff done. I made a special extension to get the engine out of my old 91 C4 Corvette. Have cut and welded a few wrenches to make tools so I wouldn't have had to buy any.

I have a 1/2 inch breaker bar and a 1/4 inch t-handle branded Montgomery Ward Powr-Kraft that came from an estate auction with evidence of prior repair and having a socket attached to the bottom of the handle, respectively.

I personally like using sliding Fs to compress caliper pistons -- call it the metal fabricator in me. But sometimes the swivel foot won't make it to the outer pad.

Just last night I got sick of it and popped the pad off two inexpensive clamps (I reco 6.5" minimum) and problem solved. These will just stay on my service cart for brake work.

The definition of cobbled... I used this for the first time just now. A homebrew setup to go from the air fittings on my pressure bleeder to the Speedi-Bleed caps. Worked perfectly-- no more chaining the universal adapter under the master!
